More fireworks

More fireworks after the weekend of Singapore national day...

I was in charged of recording while hubby is in charged of the camera. However, the firework lasted for 15 minutes and my hand was so tired plus the smoke, I gave up halfway but hubby did a great job.

Enjoying the breeze and people watching...great to see people having a small party or chit-chat after the firework...

Did you notice the cranes across the Merlion, looks like the construction of the Marina Bay Casino is going full stream...

42 and still going strong

This is as far we can go to watch the firework. See the bridge in front, the performance platform is after the bridge.

We have no complain for the spot we chosen cause there was constant supply of breeze and we got to see the firework in full view.






































Love the second video clip better because of this cute little fella in front of me. He was making the firework sound effect too.
















Not only is he adorable, look at the hairstyle...the complete Singapore flag and 42 mean Singapore is already 42 years old now.

Chinese New Year decoration for this year is up at Chinatown . So, what do you think ? Too red huh..?

Another two weeks to Chinese New Year, have you finish with your shopping yet? Are the Ang Pau ready? Talk about spring cleaning? and the list go on.........

This was what I saw two weeks ago near Chinatown....*pengsan* Aiyaaa...looked like someone forgot their laundries and hang them out to dry hor??? According to the newspaper, the decoration was a work in progress due to some materials did not arrive on time because of the Johor Floods...

The pink colour cloth also reminded me of the table cloths that you see at wedding banquets in Chinese restaurants right?

I took another trip to Chinatown and was expecting to see the final decoration that the organisation said that was a work in progress. Looked like the organisers had changed their mind and decide on another decoration. Actually hor...maybe they should get some professional help or just leave this part of the road alone....hehe...

Singapore Garden Festival 2006

There is a garden exhibition going on at Suntec for the first time and it is a smaller version of the Chelsea flower festival. The exhibition here are mostly winning exhibits and it is a rare treat indeed. At forth floor, there is an Orchid exhibition that worth a visit as well. Beautiful orchids and colours everywhere.

We enjoyed ourselves so much and can't wait for more exhibits again in two years time.

One special flower exhibition that amazed us was the flower presentation done by children as young as 7 or 8 years old. See the small pebbles that laid out plus the flower presentation. Isn't that creative and different for her age?

Be Our Guest This Christmas 2006

We head down to the Orchard Road last weekend because husband want to practice with his 2006 Christmas toy-a Canon Powershot S3IS. Me too also have a go on some of the items in the house. This year Christmas light is beautiful as usual.

The surprise of the night is the Christmas deco at CentrePoint where Robinson is located. The theme is more of a young, modern urban style of deco. You can be the judge if you like it this year?

It's this time of the year again. The time where you need to think where to bring your husband's side "rombongan" of relatives during this festival season. To gather all the intelligent on what's happening by foot is not easy OK..
This year I manage to find this website. Check this website on events and promotion going on from period 11th Nov 2006 to 2nd Jan 2007...No. STB did not pay me anything OK.
Feel the magic of Christmas in the Tropics

OMG, no wonder the Orchard Road, Marina Bay and surroundings are so jammed these days....

If you are looking at what's happening during month of Oct to Dec 2006 in Singapore, you should get this-"Get festive in the tropics". I found this guide at the tourist information counter at Liang Court. I am sure you can get one at the Changi Airport, hotels and other tourist information counter. The guide is rather complete for visitors visiting Singapore in these months.

We just want a table to eat..........

Sometimes when you just want to be adventurous and just go to any restaurant without a reservation, don't be alarm if you cannot find a table during dinner time. It seems that reservation is a thing here. Me and k got some impolite treatments at two restaurants near city centre.

Well...to cut the story short.

At restaurant 1:

Me: Can I have a table for two?

Girl 1: All the tables are reserved....

Me: Not even one table???

Girl 1: All the tables are reserved. You can sit here....

Me:(In my heart- no chairs, next to the walkway and counter...thinking very noise and evryone look at your food leh.)

Girl 1 : All table are reserved. All will come soon.

Me: ......................

At restaurant 2:

Girl 2 & 3 pretend we are invisible....

Me:Can I have a table for two?

Girl 2:All tables are fully booked. You come back in 2 hours time, 8pm.

Girl 2 & 3 pretend we are invisible again....

Me:..........................................

Well, luck is on our side, we found this Japanese restaurant at Liang court. The restaurant is located at the basement right at the corner outside of Meidiya supermarket.

Even though the restaurant is full and there is a queue starting to form outside, they seem to work out a system.

1) You approach the girl at the counter.

2) She hands you a paper with a number and tell you the duration of waiting time.

3) She calls out the number accordingly.

4) One will guide you to your table.

5) The table is clean when you reach the table.

We waited for only 15 minutes even though our number is 60 and the calling number was at 45 when we first arrived. That's was fast. *happy*

The whole experience is excellent.

1) You get served green tea immediately after you sit down.

2) The staff topped up your green tea without you asking.

3) The food we ordered was really good.

We ordered Wafu beef steak(the meat is so soft and juicy), Unagi Kamameshi rice(like clay pot rice except with unagi, very yummy too and you just can't stop eating), Smoked Miso Ramen (pork bone soup with ramen, yummy too but husband commented too salty) and green tea ice cream(milky and smooth).

Sorry there was no photo cause I forgot and we need to eat more to compensate the rejection earlier.

The staffs would say thank you aloud when you leave the restaurant. All is not lost and It's an evening with a happy ending.
